Sofia Tsenekidou – SEO & Digital Marketing Strategist
I’m Sofia Tsenekidou, an SEO Expert and Digital Strategist.
Since 2000, my journey has been about connecting marketing, technology, and human relationships.
Through TrySEO, I create solutions grounded in authenticity, trust, and strategic thinking.
I don’t promise perfection — I promise respect, consistency, and dedication to achieving the best possible results.
Below, you can learn more about me and the path that led me here.
The First Steps in IT (2000–2002)
After graduating in 2000 with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing with Economics from the University of Stirling, I began working in Thessaloniki at the IT company ORBIS IT.
Working alongside people from IT backgrounds, I often felt technically behind — but that became my greatest motivation.
That’s when I decided to pursue a Master’s degree in Information Technology — a leap of faith that forever changed the way I think and work.
My Roots in SEO and Technology (2002–2005)
My first encounter with SEO and website development came in 2002,
when I began my Master’s in Information Technology at the University of Stirling in Scotland — two years after earning my Bachelor’s with Honors from the same university in Marketing with Economics.
At that time, combining marketing and technology wasn’t common practice.
Today, it’s at the core of every strategy.
In my early projects, I wrote HTML, Perl, and CSS, trying to achieve something that back then felt almost magical.
to make a website appear high in search results.
I didn’t know much back then — but I had passion and persistence.
The Decade of Early Growth (2005–2015)
What followed was a decade that immersed me deeply in the business world.
From 2005 to 2015, I worked in major industrial and multinational companies,
holding positions such as Marketing Manager, Exports Customer Service Manager, and Supplies Manager.
Those were years of intense learning and growing responsibility.
I gained valuable experience in ERP project management, process reorganization, and data analysis.
There, I learned one of the most important lessons of my career:
The Transition – From the Corporate World to Freelancing (2013–2015)
Around 2013, after a major merger between multinational companies, I realized I was ready to take a new direction.I had lost touch with the essence of life — the kind of life I truly wanted to live. I longed for time, freedom of choice, creativity, and collaborations that I could choose for myself. That’s when I founded Digital Data Services Ltd in Bulgaria — a step toward standing on my own. It was a decision that gave me time to rethink my professional direction.
I knew I wanted to move away from the corporate environment. The new management kept me on for two more years, as I was the only one with in-depth knowledge of the company’s ERP system. When the time came to leave, at the end of 2015, it was one of the happiest days of my life. I felt renewed excitement and the energy to start something new.
A New Beginning in Bulgaria (2015–2019)
I moved to Sofia, Bulgaria, and during the first three months, I volunteered for a project supporting migrants — an experience that brought me closer to people, not roles.
Soon after, I started part-time at a Bulgarian IT company, where I got involved in a major project for Expatica.com, one of Europe’s best-known content platforms for expats.
That project lasted two years and immersed me deeply in SEO, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, the Symfony framework — and a website that attracted over 1.5 million monthly visitors. It was a true learning ground.
In 2019, I purchased the domain tryseo.gr.
Its first version was a small website — WordPress, Google Ads, SEO — but behind it was a powerful purpose: the need to exist authentically.
The TrySEO Era (2019–Today)
TrySEO was born out of my desire to grow and collaborate. For a long time, I worked alone — unsure where to seek help or guidance. I had few projects, but plenty of dedication and even more faith. During the COVID period, life in Bulgaria unfolded differently than in Greece. By then, I had a steady base of clients — and over time, I realized something important:
In 2022, I began seeking collaborators —
Some I found, others found me.
TrySEO is not just a company. It’s the result of a journey of self-awareness, where technology, emotion, and authenticity came together.
The Woman Behind the Name
For me, TrySEO is not a brand — it’s a reflection. It all began with my first projects at WebDataSEO.com (built in Drupal) and later at TrySEOConsultant.com, and eventually matured through TrySEO.gr (built in WordPress).
Each step represents a stage of my journey — learning, growth, understanding, and humanity.
In Closing, I Want to Say
I am not perfect — and that’s not my goal.
Perfection means an end, and I believe that the path of growth has no end.
I believe in excellence as progress — a continuous journey of learning, evolution, and awareness in the present moment.
I am as authentic as I can be, at the level of self-awareness I hold in each “now” moment. Every collaboration is an opportunity to learn something new — about people, about my work, about myself, and about what it means to offer. What I can promise to anyone who chooses to work with me is that I will treat them with respect and do my best within the framework of our collaboration.
We don’t need to be perfect to create value. We just need to be present, honest, and dedicated to what we do.
